EW's editorial guidelines Published on March 12, 2024 05:26PM EDT If there is one thing Drew Barrymore has proved on her talk show, it's that her dedication to a good bit is rock solid. In a preview clip from her upcoming interview with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Wednesday, the actress can be seen welcoming the WWE wrestler to The Drew Barrymore Show by sporting his legendary turtleneck, chain, and fanny pack look — complete with a flat top wig, fake muscles tucked into her shirt, and everything. It’s safe to say Johnson was taken by surprise spotting a slightly shorter version of himself standing onstage before him. “Oh my God,” he said through his laughter as he pulled Barrymore into a hug. “That’s amazing! That’s incredible! Wow.” Barrymore then, naturally, got down on one knee and professed her undying admiration for the Black Adam actor. “I love you so much,” she declared as Johnson kneeled down and took her hands. “I do. I love so many things about you.” A true actress at heart, Barrymore then asked Johnson how she could better tap into her current portrayal of him. “May I ask, what body language should I have?” She queried as she puffed out her chest and flexed her fake muscles. “I think you just naturally did it,” Johnson simply replied. “It was just one of these things — and [push] your chest out a little bit.” "I’ve got bosoms and I don’t stand like this, but being you, I feel I could just take on the world,” Barrymore declared as she began proudly stomping across the stage. “I also —This is my walk? I don’t know why.” Johnson labeled her walk “crazy,” and suggested that she try a cool and collected saunter instead of her aggressive gait. Dwayne Johnson and Dwayne Johnson. The Drew Barrymore Show/Ash Bean Johnson explained the rationale behind his eccentric look — which has gone onto become a popular Halloween costume over the years — during a 2016 interview with PEOPLE. “It takes a lot of confidence to rock a fanny pack,” he said at the time. “Put your thumb in the fanny pack. I’m giving a look.” He added that he doesn't even consider the ensemble “the funniest thing about the picture” either — it’s the fact that he genuinely believed it was a good outfit at the time. “I walked out of the house like this," he reflected. "Like: Hey baby, this is it, right?’” Barrymore's interview with Johnson is set to air tomorrow. In the meantime, watch the Rock meet the Rock in the clip above.
