EW's editorial guidelines Published on January 29, 2020 06:00AM EST Warning: This article contains spoilers for this week’s episode of Schitt’s Creek, “Maid of Honour.” The debut of the first trailer for The Crows Have Eyes 3 wasn’t the only emotional moment on Schitt’s Creek this week. In the latest installment of EW On Set: Schitt’s Creek, Annie Murphy (Alexis) and Emily Hampshire (Stevie) take fans behind the scenes of the fourth episode of season 6, in which the characters try out to become David’s (Dan Levy) maid of honor. According to Murphy, it’s a big moment for Alexis, who once again considers another person’s needs above her own. “I think it means a lot to Alexis because she did have her heart set on being the maid of honor, and I think it was a big personal moment for Alexis to relinquish those sisterly duties and give them over to Stevie,” Murphy says from the set of the show’s Canadian production. “It was a bit of a bumpy road to get there, but I think Alexis has finally matured enough that she understands that Stevie needs this more than she does.” Stevie is going through some stuff. She wanted to see what else the world has to offer her besides hotel management, but becoming an airline stewardess is stressing her out. “What happens is that I go for my first day and they want me to go on a real flight to be a flight attendant on a flight that’s going to leave the ground. And so, as I do say in this, which I do agree with, how safe can the plane be if I’m the one in charge of saving peoples’ lives?” Hampshire says. “There’s this one moment where I’m running out of the place and David and Patrick [Noah Reid] and Alexis are picking me up, and Dan said to me, he’s like, ‘I don’t want to minimize everything you’ve done on the whole season, but that was your best work, that run.’” Stevie, dressed as a flight attendant, runs out of the airline headquarters in her heels, but there’s something more emotionally poignant brewing beneath the surface. Stevie is questioning what to do with her life, having lost a job again and leaving Johnny (Eugene Levy) with the motel. So, instead of taking the maid of honor role for herself, Alexis decides to lend her guiding hand to Stevie. You love to see it.
