Superman reveals Lois Lane, Daily Planet team ahead of trailer launch

Ace reporter Lois Lane is ready to get the scoop. 

Ahead of the Superman teaser trailer tomorrow, Warner Bros. released a 30-second teaser (for the teaser) that shows the first official look at The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actress Rachel Brosnahan in the role. No grainy pap pics this time around! 

And, in the footage, she’s surrounded by her teammates at The Daily Planet, the premier news organization of Metropolis City. We get first looks at such folks as Skyler Gisondo (Booksmart) playing photographer Jimmy Olsen and Saturday Night Live alum Beck Bennett playing douchey mustachioed sports reporter Steve Lombard.

There are also the typical kinds of snapshots you'd imagine from the setup to a Superman trailer. Citizens of the world are staring in awe at the arrival of David Corenswet’s Man of Steel. Some grab their cameras to immortalize the moment for their scrapbooks, some, like Lois and the Daily Planet team, are watching live feeds on their TV screens. It’s safe to say we’re all a little excited to see tomorrow’s first trailer for the buzzed-about movie.

James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), who now co-heads DC Studios with Peter Safran, directs the new Superman. “This project is so much more than just another movie to me,” he says in a video message to fans. “It’s a story about humanity, about what it means to be a hero in a world that doesn’t always make it easy to be one.”

Releasing on July 11, 2025, Superman follows Kal-El/Clark Kent years into being Superman. He struggles to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his upbringing in Kansas, while also dealing with major threats.

Many other figures from the larger DC world will pop up, including "Super-Dog" Krypto, Nicholas Hoult as Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Nathan Fillion as the Earth-based Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag, Sr., Wendell Pierce as Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White, and Christopher Reeve's son Will Reeve in an undisclosed cameo. But Gunn promised audiences that the film is, at its core, a Superman story.
