The Suits universe is about to get bigger.

Aaron Korsh, creator of the original series, will soon helm a new spinoff for NBC: Suits LA.

Is Harvey Specter relocating to the West Coast? The jury is still out on whether Gabriel Macht’s suave lawyer is officially returning. It’s one of many mysteries surrounding the buzzy extension of the popular USA series, which ran from 2011 to 2019.

Suits got a second wind, and became a cultural phenomenon, when it arrived on Netflix and Peacock, ranking as 2023's most-streamed show. The series became such a sensation that star Patrick J. Adams shared his belief that “Suits walked so that Succession could run.”

While many details about Suits LA are still under wraps, some announcements and teasers have offered insight into the spinoff and what to expect when it airs on NBC next year.

Here’s everything to know about Suits LA., including its premise, cast, and release date.

What is the plot of Suits LA?

Former Manhattan federal prosecutor Ted Black (Arrow's Stephen Amell) decides to reinvent himself and move to the sunny West Coast. There, he opens Black Lane Law to represent some of Los Angeles’ richest and most powerful clients.

However, Califonia dreaming isn't all it's cracked up to be. Ted soon finds his loyalties tested when his capable team's personal lives threaten to intersect with their professional ones. All the while, viewers will slowly learn about the mysterious events that drove Ted out of New York City in the first place.

Who are the new cast members of Suits LA?

Several new cast members are joining the Suits universe for the new spinoff, including Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead), Lex Scott Davis (The First Purge), Bryan Greenberg (One Tree Hill), and Troy Winbush (The Cosby Show).

Additionally, John Amos will appear in the pilot episode as himself. It’s the last on-screen appearance for the actor, who died Aug. 21 at 84.

Is the original Suits cast returning for Suits: L.A.?

NBC has not confirmed whether any original Suits stars are returning for Suits LA. But many actors have expressed interest in the spinoff — and have even hinted at their involvement.

Wendell Pierce — who played savvy lawyer Robert Zane, father to Meghan Markle’s Rachel — recently spoke about Suits LA in an interview. "I'm sure that we will be making cameos on it,” Pierce said on SiriusXM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw in October. "I better be asked to make a cameo on the show, 'cause we went on strike because of not getting anything from that resurgence,” referring to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Sarah Rafferty and Patrick J. Adams currently host Sidebar: A Suits Rewatch Podcast. Adams previously said that one of his primary reasons for leaving Suits after season 7 was to spend more time with his family. But perhaps a cameo wouldn’t take him away for too long...

Will Gabriel Macht play Harvey Specter on Suits LA?

Though NBC has not officially confirmed his casting, Macht hinted at Harvey Specter heading west in a Nov. 20 Instagram post. Set to the Suits theme song, the short video shows Macht slipping on Harvey’s trademark monogram shirt sleeves and labeled shoes. The caption reads, “When an old friend is in need…it’s time to take care of things and make those very 'things' right.”

Deadline also reported that Macht will reprise his role on Suits LA for a three-episode arc.

Will Meghan Markle return for Suits LA?

Again, nothing has been confirmed. But it would undoubtedly be a massive pop culture shock if the Duchess of Sussex appeared in Suits LA, even just for a brief cameo.

Former costar Sarah Rafferty spoke with EW about whether Markle would be a guest on her Suits rewatch podcast, cohosted with Patrick J. Adams. "Everybody's invited, and everybody has been so supportive," Rafferty said. However, Markle has not publically responded to Rafferty’s invitation or acknowledged a possible Suits LA appearance.

Are there any teaser trailers for Suits LA?

Yes! EW exclusively debuted a teaser for Suits LA on Nov. 22, offering a never-before-seen glimpse into the new spinoff.

The trailer is mostly a montage of Los Angeles palm trees and lavish offices with men and women in stylish suits (obviously). One shot of Amell and McDermitt laughing in a swanky restaurant suggests similar camaraderie vibes may carry over from Suits. The teaser also plays up the nostalgia factor by including the original series' theme song, "Greenback Boogie."

When will Suits LA premiere and where can you watch it?

Suits LA debuts on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. The series premieres between pilots of The Americas (7 p.m. ET/PT) and Grosse Pointe Garden Society (10 p.m. ET/PT).

Every episode will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
