When Taylor spoke with Andy Cohen for his SiriusXM radio show Andy Cohen Live on Thursday, he asked if they had any plans to get married. "I don't think so," Taylor said. "We've never talked about it with any interest. It doesn't seem to mean to us what it means to other people." The more than 30-year age difference between them raised some eyebrows at first, and Paulson has even said that some people advised her to keep the relationship secret. That didn't work. "I am the captain of my own ship, and I’ve never looked to anyone see to validate that," Paulson said in a 2017 interview. In the new interview with Cohen, Taylor admitted that the age difference "worries me for her sake," but that she and Paulson have a lot more in common than it might seem. "We have a wonderful resonance," Taylor said. "We're very interested in the same kinds of things, though we share big differences... I mean, what can I do?" Plus, Taylor has plenty of wisdom to offer her partner as Paulson goes through life changes and phases that she has already experienced. "A lot of the things she's going through that are very emotional and important to her right now, I went through 30 or 40 years ago," Taylor said. "She brings them up in my memory and I go, 'Oh, of course this is hard.' Or, 'Of course, that's great!' The joy of her winning that Tony... was so thrilling to see." Paulson recently won her first Tony Award for her performance in the play Appropriate, while Taylor is just beginning a Broadway run playing a Nancy Pelosi analogue (opposite Ana Villafañe as a version of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) in the play N/A. They were also one of several couples to each receive Emmy nominations this year. Paulson was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress for her role as a marriage therapist on Mr. and Mrs. Smith, while Taylor was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress on The Morning Show.
