Blige and Nas announced a co-headlining tour for this summer, set to kick off July 11 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The tour will run through September and feature stops in 22 cities, including Atlanta, Detroit, St. Louis, and San Francisco. Blige will also play solo shows in Jacksonville, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas. (Curiously, there is no scheduled date for the pair’s mutual hometown, New York City.) Blige has previously co-headlined tours with Maxwell and one-time Nas rival Jay-Z. Her last album, Strength of a Woman, was released in 2017–a banner year for her, as she also starred in and contributed the song “Mighty River” to the film Mudbound. (Blige became the first person ever nominated for an acting and Original Song Oscar in the same year.) She also showed up as a time-traveling assassin in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy earlier this year. Nas’ last release, Nasir, dropped in 2018 as part of Kanye West’s “Wyoming Sessions” summer blitz. Tickets for the tour, produced by Live Nation, go on sale Friday, April 19. You can see the full list of tour dates here. Related content: Why Mary J.
