EW's editorial guidelines Published on May 3, 2022 07:28PM EDT Cameron Diaz, everyone's favorite retired actress turned Southern California vintner, paid homage to one of her many classic film roles with the help of Insta star Benny Drama, a.k.a. writer and actor Benito Skinner. Skinner, known for his dead-on Kardashian impersonations (and also the only acceptable reaction to hearing "Rain on Me"), donned his best summer '98 rom-com blockbuster drag to meet up with Diaz and pop open some cans of her Avaline wine. Cameron Diaz/Instagram Of course, the category is There's Something About Mary, the movie that not only launched a thousand parodies, but also launched Diaz to A-list stardom. Directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly, There's Something About Mary starred Ben Stiller as Ted Stroehmann, a lovable loser still pining away for his high school sweetheart Mary Jensen (Diaz). Known for its gross-out humor (the close-up of Ted's scrotum stuck in his zipper still haunts my nightmares), There's Something About Mary also featured one of the funniest moments in a modern romantic comedy, when Mary, mistaking some semen from a freshly self-serviced Ted as hair gel, runs it through her hair. Timeless hilarity ensues. Cameron Diaz in 'There's Something About Mary'. Everett Collection Though There's Something About Mary garnered Diaz rave reviews and precipitated a helluva run of hits including the Charlie's Angels movies, Gangs of New York, Being John Malkovich, and the unrivaled masterpiece that is The Holiday, Diaz retired from acting in 2018. Since then she's gotten into the wine business, starting Avaline with friend Katherine Power. So we have canned wine to thank for this nostalgic nod to rom coms past as well as Cameron Diaz's breezy delivery of "I love gay guys" before greeting Skinner. Judging from the reactions of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars contestants, the feeling is mutual. Diaz will serve as a guest judge on this upcoming, all-winners season and the tea on the street is Ms. Diaz is a true Drag Race superfan. "She looked beautiful up close in Untucked, and she seemed like a fan of the show," Trinity the Tuck told EW. "Some judges that come on don't seem to be present, but she was very knowledgeable. She knew who we were, she knew what to look for, she was there, and she looked stunning. She was super nice." Want more movie news?
