Ryan Murphy has once again pulled from the Broadway world for his latest Netflix announcement.

The uber producer announce on Instagram that he will be bringing last summer's highly successful revival of Mart Crowley's The Boys in the Band, which Murphy produced, to Netflix as a film adaptation to air in 2020.

Band, about a tense gathering between a group of gay friends, will be directed by Joe Mantello, who helmed the stage version, and feature the entire Broadway cast including Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Matt Bomer, Charlie Carver, Robin de Jesus, Tuc Watkins, Michael Benjamin Washington, and Brian Hutchison. Filming is due to begin in mid-July.

Murphy, who has a massive deal with Netflix, previously announced that he would be adapting current Broadway musical The Prom as a film as well.

His first series for the streaming giant, The Politician, will debut in September.

This is the third recent Broadway adaptation for Netflix, with Kerry Washington's American Son also getting a movie treatment for the service.
