Elsbeth star Carrie Preston teases the road ahead after that series premiere twist Elsbeth is currently in its second season, the second spinoff by Michelle and Robert King of their uber-successful network legal procedural The Good Wife, which starred Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick, the wife of a philandering state's attorney (Christopher Noth) who becomes partner at a top Chicago law firm alongside Christine Baranski's Diane Lockhart. The Kings wasted no time after The Good Wife bowed following its seventh season in 2016; the following year, they created The Good Fight around the Lockhart character, and that series went on to find an audience of its own and enjoy six seasons across CBS All Access and Paramount+. Elsbeth spins off another Good Wife character, Carrie Preston's Elsbeth Tascioni, a quirky attorney whose idiosyncratic methods and infallible intuition land her a unique gig assisting the NYPD on hard-to-crack cases.
