Keith Urban recalls fan throwing her prosthetic leg on stage for autograph: 'This leg landed with a thud'

Keith Urban has had plenty of fan interaction on the road over the years, but one particular incident really sticks out in his mind. When the country star appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week, the host asked him if there had ever been a "crazy" moment when things "went awry" during a concert. Urban had an immediate answer.

"I was playing a show, and this girl yells out from the audience, 'will you sign my leg?'" Urban recalled to host Kelly Clarkson. "And I went, 'of course' what a great moment. This was years, a long, long time ago. She's out there, I say yep come on up! Then she disappears, I couldn't see her. Then she pops up out of the same spot and throws this prosthetic leg up on stage!"

As one could imagine, the logistics of this autograph ended up being a little complicated.

"This leg landed with a thud," Urban said. "So I picked the leg up and I'm signing the leg, and then I'm like, how do I get it back to her?

"You should crowdsurf it on the way back!" Clarkson suggested.

"That's kind of what I did!" Urban said. "I gave it to the audience, and they surfed it back, and she popped it back on. It was rock and roll."

Clarkson was clearly loving the moment. "She's like sign my leg!" she exclaimed. "And then just threw it at you? That's amazing. I wanna have a drink with her."

Bravo fans hearing this anecdote may recall one of the most iconic moments on The Real Housewives of New York City, when cast member Aviva Drescher threw her own prosthetic leg in order to win an argument.

After being accused of being phony and a liar by other cast members, Drescher responded by saying "the only thing that is artificial or fake about me is this" before detaching her prosthetic leg and slamming it on the table at expensive New York restaurant Le Cirque, and then throwing it at other cast members.

"Everything else is real!" Drescher, who lost her leg in an accident with farming equipment as a child declared during the now-iconic clip.

In a January 2020 interview with Women's Running, Drescher (who runs multiple times a week in either New York's Central Park or Southampton) said she wanted to join Real Housewives in the first place in order to show other amputees that they could live normal lives.
