Joshua Jackson has lost his childhood home to the devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles.

The actor's home in Topanga Canyon did not survive the Palisades Fire, which has been raging for seven days straight across more than 23,000 acres now, destroying more than 10,000 structures. As of Monday morning, just 14 percent is contained.

"First and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are OK," said Jackson in a statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly. "My daughter, my family, my neighbors all made it out safely. Sadly my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love."

Born in Vancouver, the American-Canadian actor was raised in L.A.'s Topanga, located in the Santa Monica Mountains, until he was 8. He moved back to Canada following his parents' divorce but returned to California in 2001 and purchased his childhood home, Jackson told Mr. Porter in 2021.

"My father unfortunately was not a good father or a husband and exited the scene, but that house in Topanga was where everything felt simple, so it was a very healing thing for me to do,” said Jackson, sharing at the time that his young daughter with ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith sleeps in his childhood bedroom.

“There was a mural of a dragon on the wall in that room that I couldn’t believe was still there, years later," shared Jackson. "The owner [who sold him the house] said, ‘I knew it meant a lot to somebody and that they were going to come back for it some day.’”

Palisades is one of three major wildfires currently threatening L.A.: the Eaton Fire in the Altadena-Pasadena area, spanning more than 14,000 acres and 33 percent contained, and Hurst Fire in Sylmar, spanning 799 acres and 95 percent contained. The death toll has climbed to 24 from the Palisades and Eaton Fires, and more than 10,000 Angelenos have been displaced amid evacuation orders. The situation is believed to be the worst and most destructive in California history.

Among the stars who've lost their homes are Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal, Milo Ventimiglia, Jamie Lee Curtis, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, and Mark Hamill. A number of celebrities have also mobilized in the wake of the catastrophe, donating time and funds to help victims rebuild. That includes Halle Berry, Curtis, Beyoncé, Eva Longoria, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

A number of Hollywood events and productions have also been canceled or postponed to focus on relief efforts.
