By Raechal Shewfelt Published on May 22, 2024 01:10AM EDT Los Angeles police have arrested two suspects in the attack on Beverly Hills, 90210 actor Ian Ziering at the end of last year. On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department announced that officers had arrested two suspects responsible for assault and vandalism of a motorist on Hollywood Boulevard. "On December 31, 2023, around 3:00 p.m., a victim was involved in a physical altercation with four to five members of a minibike gang on the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard within the Hollywood Entertainment District," the LAPD said in a statement. "The confrontation began between the victim and one of the minibike riders over possible damage to his vehicle. Three to four additional minibike riders jumped in and assaulted the motorist. One of the minibike riders is captured swinging an object at the victim, nearly striking him. After the assault, the minibike riders vandalized the motorist’s vehicle while his ten-year-old child remained in the front seat. The victim and his child did not sustain any serious injuries." Two suspects were arrested: Jacob Esteban Hernandez, 20, of Rosemead, California, was booked for felony vandalism, while Angie Teresa Guizar, a 40-year-old woman from Los Angeles, was booked on assault with a deadly weapon. Ziering posted on January 1 about the New Year's Eve incident. "Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes. While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself," he wrote on social media. "I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace. This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient. Ian Ziering's Beverly Hills, 90210 costar responds to his New Year's Eve attack: 'You're a f---ing beast' "I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety. We must address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone. I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences." Ziering noted then that he was thankful for the support of his community. Ziering was with Penna, his daughter with ex-wife Erin Ludwig, when the incident took place. The two also share an older daughter, Mia. Following the incident, Ziering's former 90210 costar Brian Austin Green expressed support for him. "Z, I love you, brother. You're a f---ing beast. Good on you," he wrote.
