Movies Bill Murray is back in the jumpsuit in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire trailer Bustin' makes him feel good. By Wesley Stenzel Published on January 29, 2024 04:55PM EST Who ya gonna call? Nostalgia! A new trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has arrived, and it offers more glimpses of the original gang getting back in the action. After reintroducing us to the new stars of the Ghostbusters franchise — played by Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd, who all debuted in 2021's Ghostbusters: Afterlife — the trailer shows us how the Ghostbusters of the '80s fit into the newest installment. Having briefly appearing in the finale of Afterlife, all three of the surviving Ghostbusters seem to be joining the new squad for a mega-Ghostbusters team-up: Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson are all back in their signature beige jumpsuits, this time to fend off an evil spirit that threatens to send New York into a second ice age. There's no sign of Harold Ramis' Egon Spengler, as the actor died in 2014 (though he was resurrected via CGI for Afterlife, so we can't completely rule out his appearance in the movie). Bill Murray in 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire'. Sony Pictures Entertainment Murray's Peter Venkman also excitedly welcomes another old friend into the fold: Annie Potts' Janine Melnitz, who was the team's secretary in the first two movies, is suiting up alongside the others with a proton pack of her own. "Can I be of any help?" Venkman asks. "Melnitz in uniform — yeah!" Other familiar faces from the 1984 film include miniaturized versions of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man (which also appeared in Afterlife), as well as William Atherton's Walter Peck, the EPA inspector whom Venkman famously said "has no dick" in the original movie. And if that wasn't enough Ghostbusters nostalgia for one trailer, don't worry, another famous face slithers his way into the final moments of the video. That's right, Slimer is back, baby!
