The release date for Paramount’s remake of Baywatch has been shifted to May 26, the studio announced Monday, in time for the holiday weekend. The Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron-led ensemble comedy was initially scheduled for a May 19 release. It will now go against Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Life, a science-fiction film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds. Director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) helms the R-rated take on the ’90s lifeguard drama. Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) plays an experienced vet forced to deal with cocky newcomer Matt Brody (Efron). Alexandra Daddario stars as Summer; Kelly Rohrbach plays CJ Parker; Ilfenesh Hadera plays Stephanie Holden; and Jon Bass plays Ronnie. Priyanka Chopra plays the villainous Victoria Leeds. Close
