EW's editorial guidelines Published on October 4, 2016 02:35PM EDT After last week’s tumultuous episode, which saw the controversial ousting of Tatianna shortly after she re-entered the competition, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars returns this Thursday with its sentimental side firmly in tact. EW has an exclusive first look at the penultimate edition of the show’s second All Stars cycle, which finds RuPaul reuniting remaining contestants Alaska, Katya, Alyssa Edwards, Roxxxy Andrews, and Detox with their families. “As gay people, we get to choose our families,” Ru says. “Because sometimes the families we grew up with don’t understand us. So, when I recently reached out with an invitation to your moms and sisters, I’m sorry to say that not one of them accepted my invitation…” Several queens look on with tears welling in their eyes before Ru says, “… they all did!” “Seeing my sister walk into the Work Room is stirring up all of these emotions,” Detox says. “Just last week, it was the anniversary of my father’s passing, so that’s been on my mind a lot, lately. To have my heart, my soul, my best friend… it’s like a godsend.” Katya, on the other hand, takes an alternative, on-brand approach to welcoming her mother. “My mom! I hate that f—ing c—! No. Just kidding,” she says, laughing. RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Logo and VH1. Watch the queens reunite with their families in the exclusive clip below. Close
