TV Article Ed Helms, Owen Wilson, Glenn Close star in Bastards trailer By Will Robinson Published on September 15, 2016 12:00PM EDT Ed Helms and Owen Wilson are set on a simplistic yet difficult proposition in the trailer for Bastards: Who is their real father? Peter (Helms) and Kyle (Wilson) were hit with the life-changing news after their mother’s (Glenn Close) wedding, when she admitted the identity of their father is a complete mystery, and the tale of his death by colon cancer was a lie. They didn’t take it well. “I spent my whole life trying to honor his memory,” Peter says. “This means I stare at a——s for a living, because of a fictional man’s colon cancer.” Kyle proposed an easy enough alternative: “Could you pivot into plastic surgery or something less butt related?” The revelation sets the two brothers on a long adventure to find their long-lost pops. Their mother’s history is filled with interesting former flames, from NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw to the unsavory Roland Hunt (J.K. Simmons). See the trailer above. Bastards — which also stars Ving Rhames, Katt Williams, and Katie Aselton — opens Jan. 27, 2017. Close
