The choice to cover the seminal Xtina classic is inspired by the “Genic Chic” storyline of the spin-off short-form series Descendants: Wicked World, which found the kids of Auradon transported inside the magic lamp of Jordan (Iman Karran), daughter of the Genie. In the video, Cameron’s character Mal is stuck in Jordan’s lamp after wishing she had her powers. WANT MORE EW? Subscribe now to keep up with the latest in movies, television, and music. Jay Martin directs, with choreography by Willdabeast Adams and Janelle Ginestra. The new version of the song was produced by TRiON. And of course, a dance tutorial with the Liv and Maddie star will air on Disney Channel immediately following the premiere, with more behind-the-scenes access airing on Sunday. Close
