The rising actress is being eyed to star alongside Natalie Portman and Gina Rodriguez in Alex Garland’s Annihilation. The Ex Machina director’s adaptation of Jeff VaderMeer‘s book details a quartet of women embarking on a risky mission. Filming is expected to begin this spring. [The Wrap] Halt and Catch Fire star Mackenzie Davis will lead Izzy Gets the F— Across Town, from writer-director Christian Papierniak. The indie film sees Davis’ eponymous character traverse Los Angeles to disrupt an ex’s engagement party. Cast members include Carrie Coon, Sarah Goldberg, Rob Huebel, Haley Joel Osment, and more. Filming is slated to begin this month on location. [Variety] Teen actress Joey King (Fargo) and Anthony Thorne have been added to January Rain, an indie delving into the effect of Alzheimer’s on a family. Thorne plays the lead, a writer who returns home to care for his estranged, sick father. King will play Thorne’s younger sister.
