TV Article Jason Bateman calls the cops in exclusive extended scene from Joel Edgerton's thriller 'The Gift' By Clark Collis Clark Collis Senior Writer EW's editorial guidelines Published on October 23, 2015 04:38PM EDT Photo: Matt Kennedy For this writer’s money, Joel Edgerton‘s directorial debut The Gift is easily one of the best films of 2015. And this writer is not alone in thinking highly of it: EW’s Kevin P. Sullivan praised the Australian actor-turned-filmmaker’s “masterful understanding of cinematic suspense” in his “A-” review when the thriller, which Edgerton also wrote, was released last August. Edgerton himself stars in the film as a somewhat creepy gent named Gordo who insinuates himself into the lives of his childhood acquaintance, Simon (Jason Bateman), and his wife Robyn (Rebecca Hall). We’ll say no more about the plot. But we will say that, below, you can see both the film’s trailer and an exclusive extended scene from The Gift, one of the bonus features on the movie’s DVD and Blu-ray, which will be released Oct. 27.
