The upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants takes a stab at reinventing famous characters in the Disney vault, and the same rule applies for the music catalog. That’s why the showstopping Beauty and the Beast staple gets a peppy remix in this exclusive clip from the film, premiering on Disney Channel on July 31 at 8 pm. Descendants follows the four children of banished villains Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella de Vil, and Snow White’s Evil Queen, as the kids are granted admission to the mainland boarding school Auradon Prep where they knock heads with the good-doing spawn of the realm’s heroes and try to claim glory for their spurned parents. In the hip-hop acapella version of the Alan Menken/Howard Ashman song, Prince Ben (son of Belle and the Beast) leads his classmates in a glee-club performance welcoming the rest of the kingdom to the school’s “Family Day.” Naturally, “Be Our Guest” is the clear fit for the fine-vibratoed kids to show off to the realm. Descendants stars Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Mitchell Hope, Cameron Boyce, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jeffery. Disney Close
