People really like the 21 Jump Street films, which is probably why Sony is reportedly expanding the franchise beyond just Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. According to multiple reports, the studio has commissioned a women-centric spinoff of 21 Jump Street from Broad City writers Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs. That’s not all, either: a mash-up feature between 21 Jump Street and the Men In Black galaxy is also apparently in the works, this according to TheWrap. (It bears noting that this possibility was originally mentioned in the leaked Sony emails in December.) The brain trust behind the original 21 Jump Street reboot — producer Neal Moritz, and writer-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller — will guide both productions.

The former move begins to shape a trend for Sony: In January, an all-ladies Ghostbusters film from director Paul Feig, with Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones in starring roles, was given a July 22, 2016 release date.

Representatives for Sony had no comment on the report; representatives for Aniello and Downs were not immediately available for comment.
