The film will star Smith as a man wrongfully convicted of murder who escapes from prison determined to prove his innocence. But this proves difficult after the widow of the man he supposedly killed puts a $10 million bounty on him, dead or alive. [The Hollywood Reporter] Isabelle Fuhrman (The Hunger Games) and Martin Henderson (Everest) will be starring in the indie drama Hellbent. Fuhrman will play a teenage runaway who enlists the help of a fugitive drifter to take her on a cross-country journey to meet her father for the first time. Max Martini (Fifty Shades of Grey), Kimberly Elise, and Johnathon Schaech also star. Shooting starts this week in New Mexico. [Variety] Jerry Lewis will join Nicolas Cage, Elijah Wood, and Sky Ferreira in the drama, The Trust. Cage and Wood will play two corrupt cops who are stuck working in the evidence room of a Las Vegas police department, when they discover a vault full of drug money sealed in the back of a convenience store they team up to pull a heist. Lewis is set to play Cage’s father. The film is shooting in Las Vegas with Ben and Alex Brewer directing. [Deadline] Jay Hernandez (Friday Night Lights) is in negotiations to join the comic book adaptation, Suicide Squad. The film will star Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, and Jared Leto as The Joker. Viola Davis and Jesse Eisenberg are also in talks to take on roles. Hernandez’s part is being kept under wraps but it is possible he could be playing an inmate on The Joker’s cell block. Production on the film begins in April. It is set for an Aug. 5, 2016 release. [The Wrap] Close
