TV Article Watch 'The Simpsons' make its obligatory 'Frozen' couch gag By Jonathon Dornbush Published on December 5, 2014 11:04PM EST Photo: FOX Because of the long lead time on animated shows, The Simpsons likely didn’t have an opportunity to sneak a Frozen gag into last year’s Christmas episode, so the Fox comedy is doing it this year, a little begrudgingly. Ahead of “I Won’t Be Home for Christmas,” airing this Sunday, Dec. 7, Fox has released the episode’s holiday-themed Christmas opening, with the couch gag devoted to an extended Frozen riff. And yes, while the show itself may call it “obligatory,” it’s still a fantastic couch gag. Lisa as Elsa is an obvious choice, but don’t expect her to hum or play a few bars of “Let It Go.” And Homer puts a decidedly less cheerful though still hilarious spin on Olaf the Snowman. The only disappointing aspect? Santa’s Little Helper is nowhere near as delightful as the real Sven. Close
