Casting Net: Ed Helms signs on for 'Epic Fail'

Hangover alum Ed Helms is attached to star in Epic Fail, an original comedy about an elite Special Forces team trying to save America. The logline reads that the group is “led by the only soldier more badass and more mustachioed than a Navy SEAL, The Walrus.” Helms co-developed the project with producer Nicky Weinstock. Black List scribes Mike Arnold and Chris Poole (The Grackle) are set to pen the script for Lionsgate. [Deadline]

• Jon Favreau, whose Chef just premiered at SXSW, is set to star alongside Vince Vaughn and Hailee Steinfeld in the crime thriller Term Life. A Christmas Story‘s Peter Billingsley will direct the story about a thief for hire on the run with his estranged daughter. [Deadline]

• Erin Moriarty, who played one of Woody Harrelson’s daughters (Audrey) on HBO’s True Detective, will star in Crawlspace, a New Line thriller about a family who moves into a home where the previous residents were murdered. Phil Claydon (Vampire Killers) will direct. [Variety]
