TV Article Casting Net: Mark Wahlberg back for 'Ted 2' in 2015, more By Katie Atkinson Published on October 2, 2013 12:00PM EDT Photo: Jason Merritt/WireImage • Mark Wahlberg and his foul-mouthed teddy bear, voiced by Seth MacFarlane, will be back in theaters in June 2015 for Ted 2. June is the same month Ted managed to break box-office records last year, grossing $540 million worldwide. MacFarlane is again writing and directing. No word yet on whether Mila Kunis will return as Lori, who marries Wahlberg’s John at the end of the first movie. • Pele, the upcoming biopic about the soccer great, might have cast young unknowns to play the title character, but the film has announced a trio of name actors in supporting roles. Vincent D’Onofrio is in final talks to play Pele’s coach Feola, who led the Brazilian soccer team to its first-ever World Cup win in 1958, while Diego Boneta will play Pele’s rival and fellow soccer player Jose. Rodrigo Santoro‘s role has not yet been announced, but he will also associate-produce the film. Newcomers Leonardo Lima Carvalho and Kevin de Paula will portray Pele at various ages. [The Hollywood Reporter] • Uma Thurman will star in three short films next year as part of the Jameson First Shot competition. Rookie filmmakers from the U.S., Russia, and South Africa have the chance to include Thurman in their projects, should they win the contest. “What excites me about being involved with Jameson First Shot is that I love the idea of finding and discovering young talent — it’s what makes the film business alive,” Thurman said.
