TV Article Casting Net: Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver circling 'Exodus' By Lindsey Bahr Published on August 27, 2013 12:00PM EDT Photo: JB Lacroix/WireImage * Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Sigourney Weaver (Alien), John Turturro (O Brother, Where Art Thou?), and Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3) are circling Ridley Scott's biblical epic Exodus, starring Christian Bale as Moses and Joel Edgerton as Ramses. Paul, now free of his Breaking Bad commitments, is currently in talks to play the part of Joshua, a Hebrew slave. Kingsley would be joining as a Hebrew scholar, while Turturro and Weaver are set to join as Ramses's parents. Moneyball co-writer Steven Zaillian (who won an Oscar for Schindler's List), wrote the latest version of the script. The shoot is scheduled to begin in September. [THR; Variety] * Broadway actress Erica Piccininni will reprise her on-stage Jersey Boys role (Lorraine the journalist) in Clint Eastwood's big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical. Piccininni has had a number of bit parts on television shows (Body of Proof, CSI: NY, The Good Wife), and a few film roles, but this will be her highest-profile feature to date. [THR] * Sopranos vet Kathrine Narducci will also be joining Jersey Boys as Frankie Valli's mother. [The Wrap] * Black Swan's Vincent Cassel will replace Oscar Isaac in Ariel Kleiman's Partisan, about a father who teaches his children vengeance and violence. The story is told from the point of view of one of his sons, the 11-year-old Alexander, who begins to question his father's teachings. Kleiman, who has received significant Festival attention for his handful of short films, will be making his feature directorial debut on the project. [Variety] Close
