TV Article Charlie Sheen: Back on Twitter! By Darren Franich Darren Franich Darren Franich is a former critic at Entertainment Weekly. He left EW in 2023. EW's editorial guidelines Published on August 14, 2012 03:25PM EDT Like a monarch returning to his golden palace after months of wandering in secret through his kingdom, Anger Management star and Estevez sibling Charlie Sheen has returned to Twitter. “It’s on” he exclaims, “My pop guest stars Thursday on Anger Management. Watch my dad show up as my dad 9:30p on FX. Best yet!!” Sheen then links to an image of himself and father Martin Sheen sharing a laugh and a couple of beers on the set of Anger Management, no doubt playing the age-old Sheen family reunion game, “Who Starred In A Better Vietnam Movie?” (Emilio can’t play, despite his constant assertions that D2: The Mighty Ducks is secretly a Vietnam metaphor.) Sheen had been absent from Twitter since July 13, when he tweeted: “reach for the stars everyone. dogspeed cadre. c out.” along with a picture taken inside of a plane. Most Charlie Sheen analysts concluded that this was intended as a Twitter retirement message, although some breakaway theorists insisted that this was really an indication that Sheen had developed beyond the need of a physical body — that he had become a creature of pure energy, pure thought, totally incorporeal. Anyhow, that didn’t happen, and now we know for sure that this Thursday’s Anger Management will be the best yet.
