'Django Unchained': First poster

Did you see what I did there in the headline? Get ready for all the "un-" puns you can handle, now that the first teaser poster has been released for Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino's impending old-timey bloodbath about a slave turned bounty hunter who must rescue his wife from a sadistic plantation owner. Another typical Christmas Day release.

The teaser features two gun-brandishing silhouettes underneath a broken chain, about the only clue to the movie's title, which is conspicuously missing from the poster. The silhouettes most likely belong to Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz, who respectively play the titular former slave and his skip tracing German dentist companion. Check out the full poster below:

This is the first official visual from the Weinstein Company-produced western (or, as Tarantino called it, a "Southern"), which costars Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Sacha Baron Cohen and Kurt Russell in addition to Foxx and Waltz. Interestingly enough, the new poster is reminiscent of an Internet trend among graphic-designy folks who have re-imagined movie posters with minimalist artistic renditions as well as the stylized simplicity of Saul Bass's famous Hitchcock posters. Django's stark four-color silhouetting probably has little or nothing to do with the actual visuals of the film, but it's damn cool (and when journalists have nothing better to say than "damn cool," it means that something is damn cool).

Inside Movie readers, sound off: how do you like the poster? Are you raring to go see Django Unchained on Christmas Day?
