The actress and singer, best known for her role as ditzy but lovable Chelsea Daniels on Disney Channel sitcom That's So Raven and spinoff Raven's Home, married her former costar Johnno Wilson on Dec. 11 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Raven-Symoné was only the 'sidekick' in first That's So Raven script, says costar Anneliese van der Pol Van der Pol and Wilson, who ironically played his wife's onscreen ex-husband on the Raven spinoff, eloped at the courthouse nearly a year after their engagement. "The only thing that was important to me was that the exchanging of our vows and our commitment to each other be private," van der Pol told PEOPLE. "My mother is no longer with us, and we didn’t want to stress anyone else out about travel, lodging, etc. We're 40 and in love so that's plenty for me." Plus, the actress joked, "I wanted to be on Johnno's SAG health insurance as soon as possible and I didn't want to miss the 2024 joint filing deadline. Romantic, I know." Added Wilson, "She is my greatest support, a true partner, makes me belly laugh every day, and a total babe, so why wouldn't I want to marry her?" Disney The duo met on set of the Raven spinoff sitcom, which followed the titular character (played by Raven-Symoné, who reprised her role) as a divorced mother of two who still catches glimpses of the future. Her son Booker (Issac Ryan Brown) has also inherited her psychic abilities, lending to the occasional hijinks. Van der Pol reprised her role as Raven's bestie Chelsea, and the sitcom opened with the duo living and raising their children together following their respective divorces. Wilson's character, Garrett Grayson, is introduced in season 3. "I came in pretty late to the reading and was visibly stressed," van der Pol recalled to PEOPLE of their first meeting. "The cast was all seated, looking at me, ready to go. But Johnno wasn't stressing. He stood up, came over to me and introduced himself. He was so cheerful and confident, and well, handsome. The rest is history. I owe a lot to our casting director!"
