The convicted scammer, born Anna Sorokin, and her partner Ezra Sosa were booted from the ballroom in a double elimination alongside Beverly Hills, 90210 star Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov on Tuesday. Delvey and Sosa later reflected their short-lived run on the dance competition during a press line after the broadcast. When asked if she felt like it had offered her a second chance in the public eye, she replied, “That’s been wasted? Yeah, of course.” Sosa then took a moment to praise his partner, noting that Delvey really “pushed herself a lot more than she would’ve expected” on the show. He continued, “Granted, we were sent home a little bit earlier than as expected, I do think even tonight seeing Anna open up in her dance and seeing her smile and seeing how elegant she was on the floor is a great way to kind of redeem herself, even if it was cut short.” Delvey has been a controversial casting ever since it was revealed that she would be starring on season 33. As part of Oscars week, Sosa and Delvey danced the quickstep to KT Tunstall’s 2004 single “Suddenly I See,” which was featured in the two-time Oscar nominated film, The Devil Wears Prada. The pair received scores of 6, 5, and 6 from the judges, who suggested that they could go far in the competition if Delvey relaxed a bit more. Following their performance, Delvey admitted that she hadn’t expected the fierce reaction from DWTS fans to her casting. “I didn't expect such backlash, but it's a new week and I'm trying to get through it,” she said.
