We are proud to announce our participation in the financing of the UK’s first Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) projects, a critical transition technology capable of decarbonising the country’s most challenging industrial emissions. 🌍 BBVA has acted as Mandated Lead Arranger and Hedging Bank in the approximately £8 billion project finance debt packages that will partially fund the construction and operation of two landmark initiatives: 🔹 Northern Endurance Partnership, a pioneering CO₂ transportation and storage infrastructure sponsored by bp, Equinor, and TotalEnergies. 🔹 Net Zero Teesside Power, the world’s first gas-fired power plant equipped with carbon capture and storage technology, sponsored by bp and Equinor. "BBVA is proud to support bp, Equinor, and Total Energies in the development of these groundbreaking projects, as well as to contribute to the UK Government’s decarbonisation strategy.
