Sobre nosotros
Our goal is to stop the progression of serious neurodegenerative diseases with innovative therapeutic solutions. ONESTX is a biotechnology-based company, founded in 2020 as a spin-off of the Pablo Olavide University (Seville, Spain) and dedicated to the development of drugs to treat neurodegenerative diseases. ONESTX aims to bring a largely awaited solution to painful untreatable diseases related to neurodegeneration, gathering an enthusiastic group of talented researchers and biotechnological development experts. The background of this start-up company was inspired by a research project carried out at the University Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in Seville (Spain). They discovered a new mechanism for increasing life span and improving memory in animal models, C. elegans and old mice, by increasing the level of certain neurosteroids. Furthermore, in models of neurodegenerative diseases (like Alzheimer’s disease) an improvement in cognitive disorders was observed.

Ready to start the EHDN & ENROLL-HD in Strasbourg! 🌟 ONESTX is excited to present the first preclinical data for the application of ONESTX-1 (STX64) in Huntington’s disease mouse models, building on our previous success in C. elegans. We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected for funding by the Spanish Ministry of Science under the “Proyectos de Colaboración Público Privada” program. This grant, amounting to approximately one million euros, will support our efforts to experimental preclinical data in animal models in collaboration with research groups from Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Fundación Progreso y Salud, and CSIC. The first proof of concept in HD patients is getting closer. We are extremely motivated by the potential to delay the progression of this devastating disease with our novel strategy.

Very exciting news 🔝 . Our project "Therapeutic potential of a steroid sulphatase inhibitor in Huntington's disease and factors involved in its anti-neurodegeneration" has received a favourable evaluation and been selected for 3 years funding under the Public-Private Collaboration call ✅ Together 🚣♀️ 🚣♀️ 🚣♀️ with our partners at Universidad Pablo de Olavide, de Sevilla and CABIMER, we are a step closer to start a clinical trial in Huntington's disease for our lead product ONESTX-1. This week we are in EHDN & Enroll-HD Congress in Strasbourg held by European Huntington's Disease Network (EHDN).
