Last week’s #HICAPconference in Singapore gave our colleagues Robert Walters, Douglas Louden and Juan Manuel Gea the chance to catch up with owners and clients, to hear their thoughts on the latest activity in the region. There was growing evidence of an appetite to expand into Europe and the Middle East, and with it an increased curiosity on the part of investors to explore a wider range of opportunities. Also, as the market matures - and costs continue to rise - there is a drive to ensure a property is as profitable as possible, that it reaches its true potential. We saw strong demand from owners, lenders and other professionals for experienced hotel asset managers with regional experience, capable of adopting a fresh approach to help owners realise additional revenue opportunities, as well as show an appreciation of investment strategy.
