BEhavioral and Adherence Model for improving quality, health outcomes and cost-Effectiveness of healthcaRe
Sobre nosotros
BEAMER is the latest Innovative Medicines Initiative international consortium to address the emerging challenge of patient adherence to prescribed treatments. Each year, this health issue contributes to approximately 200,000 premature deaths in the European Union and an estimated €125 billion in avoidable hospitalisations, emergency care and adult outpatient visits—but hope for real change is here. With the support of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), 28 public and private European partners from academia, civil society and industry will embark on a 5-year undertaking to impact physicians and patients’ lives for the better. #GuidingCare

There are 2 things in this publication that really caught my eye. Firstly, this publication builds the case for payers to include adherence in reimbursement agreements, and for governments and policy makers to collaborate with the pharmaceutical industry on how to gain most benefit from prescribed medicine. Secondly, this research is funded in 2011(!) by our BEAMER partner Merck Group which shows their ongoing commitment to improve adherence to treatment. And today this is reflected by the passion and efforts Teodora Caragea and Fulvio Michelis, PhD put into BEAMER. #beamerproject #patientadherence #patientengagement #clinicalcare #clinicaloperations #healthcareinnovations #patientoutcomes #healtheconomics #healthcareprofessionals #healthinsurancepolicy #regulators
An older but still very relevant publication by Alain Golay about the health-economic impact of non-adherence to treatment. The obvious benefit of good adherence to treatment is an improvement of the condition, but there is so much more to gain. Think about the reduced risk of psycho-social complications, the more cost-effective use of healthcare resources, and the improved health-related quality of life. At Link2Trials we believe that improving adherence to treatment can already start in clinical research. This is why we have developed our ARM services, and why we are involved in the BEAMER project. Keep following Link2Trials and BEAMER to stay up to date as we will post more details about the amazing adherence model the team is developing! https://lnkd.in/e8pryAc8 #beamerproject #patientadherence #patientengagement #clinicalresearch #clinicalcare #clinicaloperations #healthcareinnovations #patientoutcomes #healtheconomics #healthcareprofessionals #healthinsurancepolicy #regulators

🔍 Curious About How BEAMER Can Enhance Patient Adherence in Your Practice? As a healthcare professional, you understand the critical importance of patient #adherence to treatment plans. But have you ever wondered how innovative models like BEAMER could transform your approach? 💛In our September BEAMER Project Newsletter, we began spotlighting personas like Galina to showcase how we tailor our model will meet real-world needs. Who is Galina? Galina is a managerial healthcare professional who would be deeply involved in implementing the BEAMER model within healthcare facilities. Why Personas Matter: Personas like Galina help us understand the challenges and needs of various stakeholders. By crafting detailed, research-based profiles, we can help to ensure that BEAMER is practical and impactful. By understanding and addressing Galina’s needs, we aim to make BEAMER a valuable resource for improving patient outcomes. 🚀 Welcome to the September Edition of the #BEAMER Project Newsletter! This month, we’re focusing on a critical aspect of our project: understanding the people who will benefit most from the BEAMER Model. Personas—research-based representations of different stakeholder types—are helping us design effective, tailored support for patients and the wider healthcare community. The BEAMER Model is a disease-agnostic framework that predicts adherence behavior and segments the population based on actionable factors. Our goal? To build digital health solutions that promote better outcomes for everyone! Last Friday, I had the pleasure of speaking at the World Adherence Forum in Brussels, where I discussed the barriers and facilitators to implementing solutions for managing medication adherence from the HTA/payer perspective. Despite the significant societal burden of non-adherence and some evidence supporting cost-effectiveness, only a few adherence-enhancing interventions are currently reimbursed. This was a major event organized by the COST Action ENABLE, chaired by Job van Boven.

Really looking forward to meet everyone in person again. And very anxious to learn more about the simplicity of the BEAMER model and how it will help HCP's to pinpoint what support each patient needs to improve adherence to treatment. #beamerproject #patientadherence #patientengagement #clinicalcare #clinicaloperations #healthcareinnovations #patientoutcomes #healtheconomics #healthcareprofessionals #healthinsurancepolicy #regulators
Next week the BEAMER project team will convene in Düsseldorf, Germany to discuss the latest details of our model and prepare a very important and decisive step in the project. The meeting will be hosted by our project partner the University of Düsseldorf at the Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf. Late 2021 this team set out to develop a pragmatic, actionable, and effective human behavior based model to better support adherence to treatment. With this model we hope to improve the quality, health outcomes, and cost-effectiveness of healthcare. Today the BEAMER project is midway, and we believe we that we have a model that ticks all the boxes. Next step is delivering the proof that it does what it needs to do, and show you that it will enable you to provide even better patient support. Keep following Link2Trials and BEAMER to stay up to date! #beamerproject #patientadherence #patientengagement #clinicalcare #clinicaloperations #healthcareinnovations #patientoutcomes #healtheconomics #healthcareprofessionals #healthinsurancepolicy #regulators

📣Had an amazing time at #NI2024 in Manchester, UK. In addition to catching up with former colleagues, I met many new interesting people and learned about their research and interests in #nursinginformatics. 🌟 One of the highlights of the last few days was presenting a poster of the BEAMER project. I am happy to share that there was a lot of engagement and enthusiasm for the project 🥳 🤝A big thank you to the poster's co-authors Anne Moen and Jim Ingebretsen Carlson, PhD and of course to rest of the BEAMER team. 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁… ... for 2019, the Integrated Benefits Institute estimated the annual cost for the U.S. of poor health in the workplace at $575 billion? And that for Europe the costs of absence from work for that same year are estimated at $392 billion? Improving adherence to treatment can help bring these numbers down. Did you know that non-adherence also happens in clinical trials? Read this article and learn to recognize which clinical trials are at risk of low adherence.
