Development zone helps businesses to create leading-edge technologies
The Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone has made achievements in supporting companies to develop core technologies, which is of great significance to the development of China's manufacturing industry, local officials said.
Four companies in Changsha, capital of Central China's Hunan province, were listed among the world's top 50 construction manufacturers, according to a ranking released in Beijing in late April. Of them, three are from the industrial zone - Sany Heavy Industry ranks fourth, and China Railway Construction Heavy Industry and Sunward Intelligent Equipment Group take 30th and 32nd position on the list, respectively.
Earlier this month, complete sets of intelligent tunneling equipment were shipped from CRCHI to Southwest China.
The equipment features artificial intelligence developed by CRCHI that assists workers to construct railway lines in harsh weather conditions and remote areas. It has made a breakthrough in the intelligent manufacture of Hunan's construction machinery.
Although the construction machinery industry in Changsha has taken the lead nationwide, manufacturers and supply chain companies in the city are making efforts to upgrade the supply chain system and stabilize its security.
Shanghai Radk-Tech Hydraulic Control System, a core components supplier, chose to settle in the industrial zone in Changsha and cooperate with local construction machinery companies in April.
The company has developed more than 140 kinds of products that can compete overseas. Its projects in the zone have filled a blank in Changsha's construction machinery industrial chain concerning the local production of core components in hydraulic assemblies.
In recent years, Hunan has made efforts to accelerate the layout of the third-generation semiconductor industry. It plans to build Changsha into a world-class development center of new-generation semiconductor material technology in the next five to 10 years. Gradually, it will become the core area of new-generation semiconductor material industry clusters.
Dingli Group moved to Changsha in December 2019 and has made breakthroughs in addressing key technical difficulties of carborundum and gallium nitride, which are important third-generation semiconductor materials.
The zone also focuses on advanced technologies to serve the manufacturing industry and set up the Xingsha blockchain industrial park. To date, the park has attracted 75 companies and top institutions, such as the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics and the Xiaoxiang Research Institute of Big Data.
