EOSC Steering Board representatives
The Faroe Islands have observer status in ERAC and in ESFRI. The Faroe Islands are represented in Nordforsk. EURAXESS Faroe Islands is part of the EURAXESS network. EURAXESS Faroe Islands has Service Centres at Research Council Faroe Islands and the University of the Faroe Islands and Contact Points in most public research institutions and in the industry.
The EOSC activities are followed by the two experts in charge of Open Science and European funded projects. These experts are also the same persons in contact with the EOSC Steering Board.

Research Council Faroe Islands
Research Council Faroe Islands provides comprehensive information and guidance for the Faroese research community on funding calls, and other research and innovation initiatives in the European context, as well as updated information in English on Faroese research and research opportunities in the Faroe Islands. The Research Council also hosts the National Contact Point (NCP) service in the Faroe Islands. NCPs provide Faroese applicants with advice on EU research programmes and represent the Faroe Islands in relevant programme committees under the Horizon 2020 umbrella.

Policies
In Faroe Islands Open Science policies are in planning.
The Faroe Islands have been an associated country to the European Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation since 2010. In 2022, the EU and the Faroe Islands concluded the Agreement for Scientific and Technological Cooperation, associating the Faroe Islands to Horizon Europe – the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2021-2027). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Culture is responsible for overall research cooperation with the EU in accordance with the Agreement.
