A cute little cafe in East Harlem that serves a variety of sandwiches, smoothies/juices and coffee. My partner and I ordered sandwiches from the day's specials -- can't recall the names but mine had prosciutto, tomato, & swiss and my partner's had turkey and avocado. They were both delicious and tasted so fresh, love that the sandwiches are panini style. Prices were super reasonable for what we got, too!
There are a few tables inside but they also have a backyard seating area that was way more spacious than I expected -- will probably be a great place to grab coffee or lunch with a friend when the weather improves. The staff was very warm and helpful, the atmosphere was super chill, and overall we had a very positive experience at Cassava House!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mi H.Manhattan, New York, United States06515 Sept 2024
My favorite is the Rock Life sandwich on ciabatta bread. The service is always friendly and they have an outdoor patio that is spacious and comfortable. This is a neighborhood gem.

Good menu. Everything is from scratch, even the bread. I have yet to try something I don't like here. Has a cute little patio in the back that's nice in the summer. Staff is always chill and friendly. A gem to the neighborhood.

Cassava House is a hipster, vegan friendly cafe tucked in Harlem. It does seem like a product of gentrification, but the eastern European owner was nice and friendly so I appreciate the hustle. I got the big BS, which came with they even through in a complimentary banana which was appreciated. Make sure you use the 20% deal on Yelp. Good spot if you're looking for healthy/vegan options nearby. Nice seating inside and free wifi.

If you are not paying attention you could skip this place. The store front is small but inside they have a patio out back. I went for fresh squeezed juice. The ingredients were indeed fresh. I guzzled my juice down so quickly that I didn't have time to take a photo. My juice was cucumber, mint, carrot, ginger, and lime.

I love Cassava house and will continue to eat here. However, I have had several delivery orders that I have specified and put in the notes for the vegan option and received otherwise. I always order the Lando sandwich with vegan cheese, because I have ordered continuously the same order I know what the vegan cheese looks like and have had several times received my sandwich with regalar cheese. When this happens I usually just give me sandwhich to someone else or try to reach out to get the correct one sent to me. However the number provided on Yelp does not go through and Grubhub was only able to provide me with a refund of the order.
I ordered from Cassava house because I already had a previous order come with the wrong ingredients today, only to again receive the wrong ingredients on my food.
Please take a look at the order before preparation.
Thank you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jessica L.New York, United States0203 Jun 2023
This place was not welcoming at all. As soon as we walked in, the energy was low. The place was dark with no lights, the guy at the front counter had no personality and had his friends visiting him who were loud and talking on their phones. The guy at the front counter had his own music playing which shouldn't of been playing at the diner. I ordered a strawberry/banana smoothie and it tasted like pure milk. (Do not get smoothies from here). The food was ok but i was dissapointed because i could of made that at home. The place looks like it hasn't been maintained in a long time. There was a lot of flies flying around which was disgusting. Guy at the front didn't make sure the service was good. Waste of money and time.

Does Marianne find the cutest small businesses in East Harlem? You bet she does. I really enjoyed my tour provided by Charles. He was so gracious telling me about the business. I was given the menu. I'll have to post photos. The prices are so reasonable.
The artwork is fantastic and there's lots of seating options. Everything is new. They will be open a year in October. I can't believe I missed this place.
A light snack to go. I'm planning to return for lunch. Customer service is great compliments of Charles. One customer told me he is there every morning.
If you're in the neighborhood I highly recommend. I'm going to post the website information too.Helpful 70Thanks 0Love this 60Oh no 0 - Pauline T.Sacramento, United States495361614 Mar 2022
Got Combo (2) with 1/2 the Farmers Favorite and Deep Forest. Was very filling and tasty at a decent price. Cafe is cute and service is quick and attentive. Would come back again.
