Say you put the first two cards in the heart quarter. Now put the next two in the second, or club quarter; the next two in the third, and next two in the fourth, and so on again until all are dealt. Now gather them on to the first quarter precisely as you do in performing any quadrate.
Then lay out a new tarot by placing the top card at the left-hand top corner, and the next to right of it, and so on, as you would read a book. As an example, we show the result of the first quadrate:
