Image is tagged historic fair use, but the usage fails WP:NFCC#8 as the event depicted in the image is not the subject of sourced commentary, nor is the image itself the subject of sourced commentary. Unused portrait photograph, never been in use in the article it was intended for. Uploader has removed self-cc-by tag, with the somewhat unclear reason "since CC-BY-SA is not licensed to use this image". This seems to indicate not so much an attempt at revoking a valid license (which would be irrelevant for us) but an admission that the licensing was erroneous from the start, i.e. likely copyvio. Keep It's marked as a self-created image: there's no good evidence that this is not an own work. Blanking a file description page with such an explanation is a common way to attempt to revoke licensing, but it's nowhere near a common way to say that you uploaded a copyvio. What an odd coincidence that the nominator discovered this situation and attempted to get the image deleted just half an hour after I declined it, just like many other images whose deletions I decline. Panel of four photographs, claimed "own work", likely copyvio. Two of the components were identified as images from Commons, used without correct attribution. While the problem with respect to these two images can be remedied through correct attribution, we must assume that the other two are not own work either. Image was tagged as "no source" but untagged by an administrator who refuses to understand that an "own work" claim that has already been proven to be false isn't worth anything. The photo is in use at the article Janusz Kaluski where its context is explained. It is the only older photograph we have of this individual and is relevant to the article as it depicts Kaluski presenting his collection to the British Library. "A picture is worth a thousand words", on Wikipedia, is the perennial mantra of the intellectually lazy, and of the POV pusher. If you want to get the message across that this shooting was done in a particularly brutal way, you could do so just fine not in a thousand and not in a hundred words; twenty would be more than sufficient. But those twenty words would say not less, but a lot more than the image does: they would cry out "POV! OR!", loud and clear, and that's something you don't want to hear. If making the message explicit in words would be an act of tendentious OR, why do you expect that to try and get it across covertly through the emotional appeal of an image would be a legitimate motive for using one? - There are two components here, the software and the hardware. Items of hardware are protected as works of industrial design, which is also a form of intellectual property protection, but legally different from actual copyright. They are protected only against actual product piracy (i.e. copying the design to make actual replica products), not against making mere photographs of them. It is different with the software display, because screenshots of software can actually be copyrighted. However, discussing and showing the software is typically not necessary for an article about a modern smartphone model, because the hardware and the software are technically independent of each other, and the software operating systems typically have their own articles.
