   A few things about me:

  • I have been an editor here for 18 years (first edit), although I only recorded 29 edits between 2011 and 2015.
  • I am also an administrator, which means I have a few extra clean-up tools. I passed my RFA in 2008, back when adminship was truly no big deal.
  • I was an admin from January 2008 to June 2009. I resigned the tools for seven years during a period of mostly minimal editing, but then had them restored in May 2016 when I started editing consistently again.
  • I am bold when it comes to making administrative actions. That said, I will never revert another admin who has undone one of my administrative actions.
  • I mainly edit articles within the Green Bay Packers WikiProject, although I do edit some random articles from time to time.
  • If you need me to reply on another page, or would like to get my attention, please {{Ping}} me.

Packers GA

[edit]

Hi Gonzo. Since the WikiCup ends in a few weeks I figured I'd get back into doing some Packers articles. I have the first one ready for you to GA review in Scott Bolton (American football). Thanks, BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:52, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Minor portion of career"

[edit]

Hey Gonzo, I was trying to figure out what I want to nominate next and I've settled on List of Detroit Lions in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. However, I now realize the hurdle and problem I ran into last time. How does one define what constitutes a "minor" portion of a person's career? Hey man im josh (talk) 13:37, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man im josh, back in 2008, the HoF had asterisks for players who played on multiple teams. They were recognized as being predominantly part of one team ("major") but still on the list for the other teams ("minor"). You can kind of see that here on the Packers website, where they state that they only have 28 players in the HoF, and then note an additional 5 are in the HoF but only played a short time for the team (note, the page wasn't updated for the 2024 induction). Hope this helps! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 14:38, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I had actually used a reference for it at one point (see archive link here), but it states Hall of Famers who made the major part of their primary contribution for any one club are listed in bold. In cases where a player contributed about equally and/or in a major way to two or more clubs – he is listed in bold under both clubs (ie. Gary Zimmerman is listed with both the Vikings and the Broncos as his primary teams). Hall of Famers who spent only a minor portion of their career with any club are listed under that club in normal font.
Which is pretty subjective. They removed that page and have stopped classifying them as major/minor contributors on the HoF site it seems, which makes me feel like it'd be OR if I was to classify Dwight Freeney as a minor contribution during his time (duh though). God I wish the Lions shared more interesting historical info on their site... It's a fricken shame, they're one of the oldest franchises with such a rich history that's rarely talked about. Maybe something more objectively subjective (lol)? Like a note for each player that states their main teams. I.e. for Ted Hendricks it could say Hendricks spent most of his career with the Baltimore Colts and the Oakland Raiders. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 14:54, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
