Arthur Desmond
[edit]The one who arrived third in Hawkes Bay, called here "A Desmond" could be Arthur Desmond.
See his wiki page, there's a ref that says he participated in the 1884 parliament elections.
"New Zealand National Dictionary biographer Rachel Barrowman adds: "Arthur Desmond was unknown to the electors of Hawke’s Bay when he stood for Parliament in 1884."
