Career
Roy Nissany got the interest for racing at a very young age and started to compete in kart racing when he was five years old. [2] In 2004, Nissany was driving for G-Kart Racing Team (Hungary), finished fourth overall in the FIA Central European Zone Trophy and in the Hungarian Karting Championship[3] In 2007, Nissany drove for Morsicani Racing Team, an Italian karting team, he raced in the Italian Open Masters and 13th Winter Cup in Lonato. One year later, as the driver of Gandolfi Racing Team (Italy), his best result was a 2nd place[4] at the Mille Dollari race in Pomposa. After a successful period in go-karting in Europe, he stepped up in 2010 to compete in the Formula BMW Junior. In 2010, Nissany competed in the Formula Lista Junior racing series and finished in 8th in the overall standing. The highlight of his rookie year was the pole position in Monza. In 2011, when he was still 16 years old, Nissany raced with Muecke Motorsport for 2 years in the ADAC Formula Master and achieved high results including 3 podiums. August 11, 2012, Nissany scored his first win in the ADAC Formel Masters series [5] at the Red Bull ring. With this winning Nissany showed his potential and opened the way to the F3 Euro series FIA Championship. In 2013, he raced in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, the highest level of Formula 3 in the world. From the competition amongst 31 drivers, his best result was the 7th place at Brands Hatch and 3rd place amongst the Rookies. In the 2014 season, Nissany continued racing with the Muecke Motorsport team in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and has managed to finish 6th at the Nuerburgring after a most exciting fight.
On October 16, 2014, Nissany achieved the highest point of his career so far by completing his first Formula One test at Sauber's C31 2012 car in Valencia[6][7] [8] In 2015, Nissany joined Formula Renault 3.5 Series for 2015, with Tech 1 Racing as the teammate of Aurélien Panis. In his rookie year, he reached the podium in Spielberg at Red Bull Ring in his 9th race. In 2016, Roy Nissany made his switch from Tech 1 Racing Team to Lotus Team. He completed his one of the most productive season of his career, finished 7 times on the podium, 14 times in a points scoring position, won 3 races (2 in Silverstone and 1 in Monza). He finished in a career best 4th in the overall standing, scored 189 of 348 points and helped his team to achieve the runner-up position in the Teams' Championship. Roy Nissany was the only driver in the championship season who won double-header (back-to-back) races since 2014 when Carlos Sainz Jr. achieved this feat at Circuit Paul Ricard, Le Castellet in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. In 2017, Nissany joined the RP Motorsport Team and regardless the fact that this year's field is one of the most competitive and balanced ones, the young Israeli star driver is regarded one of the top favorite for the championship title. He started the season strongly, in the first 6 races of the season,he finished 4 times on the podium, ran 2 fastest laps (Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Autodromo Nazionale Monza), scored 81 points and currently on the 2nd position in the standing behind the championship leader, Rene Binder.
