OnPay, Inc. is a financial technology company based in Atlanta, Georgia that provides a cloud software for payroll, benefits and human resources management.[1]
OnPay was started in 2007 by Jesse Burgess as a family-owned payroll company.[2][3] In 2011, the cloud-based online software was released and in 2015, Burgess spun off the online payroll service from its traditional payroll company.[1][4]
In January 2020, OnPay raised $6 million series A funding.[1][5] As of April 2021, the company has processed over $2 billion in payroll for businesses in 50 states.[6]
OnPay has been ranked by Fortune, Forbes, The Motley Fool and PC Mag in 2024 in their respective lists of best payroll software services.[7][8][9][10] The company has also been listed the best in payroll software services by CNN and CNBC in 2023.[11][12]
