Wikipedia:WikiProject Algae

Some Wikipedia contributors would like to have a project to better organize information in articles related to the photosynthetic organisms commonly called Algae.

This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedia contributors. If you would like to help, please take on an open task, or add tasks where work is needed on Algae articles. Open tasks may be found on the taxon notes page.

Goals

This project is meant to provide a central location for participants interested in dealing with the mess called Algae on Wikipedia. In particular, the goal is to establish a higher level taxonomic framework from reliable and accepted taxonomies that can be used to sort photosynthetic organisms that are not embryophytes (land plants).

In particular the goal is to start with a good quality or better article for every division and class or higher taxon of marine, freshwater, soil, and symbiotic "algae." It is the intention, then, to add correct taxoboxes for all such organisms existing on Wikipedia.

Participants

Please feel free to add your user name, real name, or IP to this list if you would like to join the project.

Nephellium- I would like to join because I have written two articles about aquatic plants and I would like to know more about algae. Nephellium (talk) 14:08, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
