This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale.
Current/recent consensuses:
Title of article - Use year 2017 and Las Vegas (and not Strip) in title, as per WP:COMMONNAME[1]. Technically the shooting happened in Paradise, Nevada, location of the Las Vegas Strip, but "Paradise" should be referred to only minimally.
Keep using "shooting" instead of "massacre" unless consensus changes; do not call the event "terrorism" at this point.
Constitutionality of Bumpstock ban still under review
The lede says that the constitutionality of the bumpstock ban was under review until SCOTUS declined to hear "the case" in 2022. In fact, a challenge to the DOJ's redefinition of the term "machine gun" (Garland v Cargill) was heard by the 5th circuit in 2023 and the en banc panel ultimately rejected the DOJ's interpretation and the ban was overturned within the states under the 5th circuit's jurisdiction [2]. SCOTUS heard the case in 2024 and are yet to issue a ruling. 2603:8080:E500:161F:B87B:9FCC:FAD9:23D6 (talk) 14:10, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Countless eye witnesses on site including law enforcement .....
not just "conspiracy theorists". Had reported shots fired from multiple locations other than Mandalay Bay. The victims of this tragedy deserve for every detail to be included. Not just a whitewash of reality. This article is severely flawed in leaving these details out!!!!! 2600:1006:B19F:BB1F:0:1B:C06C:1A01 (talk) 21:36, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
