- ... that since 2018, IKEA's stuffed toy shark Blåhaj has become a popular internet meme and icon of the online transgender community? Source: https://www.intomore.com/the-internet/stuffed-ikea-shark-became-trans-icon/ "It’s Blahaj, the stuffed shark IKEA sells and once nearly discontinued, and in recent years it’s become an unlikely LGBTQ icon."
- ALT1: ... that IKEA's stuffed toy shark Blåhaj became a popular internet meme and sparked protests online when it was planned to be discontinued in some countries? Source: https://www.businessinsider.co.za/ikeas-discontinue-blahaj-shark-sent-chinese-social-media-into-meltdown-2021-10 "The root of the chaos stemmed from a September 26 tweet posted by Ikea UK, which said that the Blahaj shark was temporarily unavailable "due to supply issues." But Chinese social media users seized upon the second part of the tweet, where an Ikea support staff member wrote that the shark 'may only be available for a short period of time as it is set to be discontinued from April 2022.'"

- Welcome to DYK, Joyce-stick! This article is new enough and long enough. You did not need to review another article as you have nominated fewer than five pages for DYK (this is #1).
- The hooks are interesting and cited. The sources check out and are in the article.
- I note that there are two citations to We Got This Covered. The reliable sources list notes that this site is generally unreliable
due to its lack of editorial oversight, publication of unsubstantiated or false rumors, speculation claimed as fact, and contributions accepting from non-staff contributors
. Consider replacing citations to WGTC. (I actually recognize the writer of the two WGTC pieces from their Super Smash Bros. days...!) - There are no other textual issues.
- The image is freely licensed and appropriate for use on the Main Page.
- Note that footnotes go after periods (I fixed this using a script).
- Let me know when the WGTC sources are replaced or otherwise removed, and I will approve this page. 🏳️⚧️ Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 06:37, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator indicated to me on my talk page that changes have been made (Special:Diff/1099357251), and indeed they have. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 16:33, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

Smolhaj
Should it be added that the smaller version is colloquially referred to as "Smolhaj"? One could argue it's not important, but I'd argue it is. 174.83.14.34 (talk) 04:16, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Maybe. we'd have to be careful though, because as far as i know, that's only a nickname used by some people in the community, and is not been used as an official product name by IKEA. i might be wrong however, as i have not done a ton of research into blahaj beyond finding where i can buy one :). If we put that in, i'd recommend keeping it in the "In Culture" section. Tantomile (talk) 05:44, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- People have tried to add it several times and it's been repeatedly reverted because no one ever gave a reliable source for its inclusion (and I never found one when searching myself). But if one was provided, I'd support mentioning it. silviaASH (inquire within) 09:45, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- I agree. From a quick google search, it seems like "Smolhaj" does not appear on Ikea's website, and the top result is reddit. If we can find a reliable source however, i think it'd be a great addition to the article. Tantomile (talk) 17:38, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

Sound Effect "From Jaws"
This implies the sound effect that plays (in the Phasmophobia video game) is taken directly from the Jaws movie; which would be copyright infringement. Perhaps change to gentler language; as it simply mimics the two notes from the Jaws melody. 2A0E:CB01:40:9700:59E:ECC2:FFDC:40EF (talk) 20:23, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
