Japanese title
[edit]Does anyone know what the Japanese title Sarusuberi means? --Bernardoni (talk) 20:32, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Bernardoni: The hiranga for it is さるすべり, which according to this is the crape myrtle. Opencooper (talk) 03:55, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, I've added that information.
Article about manga or film
[edit]Hi, the article is obviously about the film, not the manga. First, the title: As far as I see, the manga has never been published in English, therefore, if the article is about the manga, it should be named "Sarusuberi" and not "Miss Hokusai". Second, the only information about the manga ist the sentence "The manga is a collection of short stories that are not connected." Under "Characters", the film characters are given, etc. --Bernardoni (talk) 13:29, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
- By the way, why was my information about the meaning of the title "Sarusuberi" deleted? --Bernardoni (talk) 13:31, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
- The article was originally here under the japanese manga title. I moved the article once the anime gained prominence under WP:English. There was very little information about the manga but the anime was receiving a constant release of information, which triggered my moving of the article. The article isn't "about the film", thats just the weight of information available. It should be about both, pending information (hence the empty Manga section heading). As the primary work does not have an official english title and the anime does and it's in common use, the article name still makes sense. It's highly unlikely people will be searching for the Japanese title, and if they do they will be directed here anyway. A translation of the title wouldn't make sense when we have an official title for the anime and the translation of the title is hardly a likely search term. Publishing details for the manga are obtainable, but anything more than that is unlikely to be added.SephyTheThird (talk) 14:38, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
