These tags were placed following discussion at Talk:Anita Carter. The pertinent comments in that discussion were:

  • The only other member of the Carter family with as long an article is Mother Maybelle, but checking the revision history of that page we see that a series of edits by 199.68.111.113 starting in February this year took it from 12,000 bytes to more than double that, and it has continued to grow to its current size of 41,000 bytes. Which leads me to think it might be necessary to check through that page and see if it too has become bloated with un-notable facts. (placed by FrankP)
  • In the case of the Maybelle Carter article, I agree that these edits from various 192.68.xxx.xxx addresses between 17 February and 4 March 2019 added a large amount of trivia and fancruft and I have tagged that one accordingly. (placed by myself)

The whole thing is a bit of a mess, with fan pov, weasel words, excessive detail, etc. Most of the offending material has the citation "Various CD, album and single liner notes, labels and credits," which seems unsatisfactory. I will go through today and eliminate the most egregious stuff. --Reverend Banjo (talk) 11:10, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I propose deleting the "Singing" section in its entirety except maybe the information under "Solo career" and "collaborations with other artists;" that should go under a section titled "Career" or something along those lines. The "Songsmithing" section should also go. Anything that is cited with "Various CD, album and single liner notes, labels and credits" should go. --Reverend Banjo (talk) 11:27, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Reverend Banjo,
I agree with deleting most if not all of the "Singing" section. I went through it and attempted to make it more readable without taking out any major information as I am a firs-time editor. This could use an entire cleanup on its own. I deleted the brief description under the "Singing" heading, as I saw it as unnecessary. Please review or suggest anything further.

Hello, I have gone through the document and performed substantive and copyediting levels of changes to the text. I am not too certain of the importance of the graphs located toward the end of the document. Though they provide great information, most of it is not new or has not already been mentioned in the text. I have visited all citations, and believe they are all working. I was also able to locate where the information in this document was found within those citations. I added a citation regarding Maybelle's reunion with her cousin, Sara, as requested. Please review my edits. --Zully616 (talk) 02:37, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cool that you found the citation about the reunion with Sara--great addition, I think! Rhizomesandranch (talk) 15:14, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
