Suspected sockpuppets

  • GBFEE has been disruptively casting WP:aspersions against Sideswipe9th on this article talk page (accusing Sideswipe9th of Wikihouding without evidence, etc). In the middle of these strange and unwarranted attacks, GBFEE brought up[1] a post in which 5.184.76.71 falsely accused Sideswipe9th of being my sockpuppet.[2] The IP and GBFEE both, obviously, have a similar interest in casting aspersions against Sideswipe9th. Plus, I can't imagine that GBFEE would make much note of, let alone want to reference, a quickly-reverted attack from an obviously disruptive IPsock from half a year ago, unless GBFEE was that IP.
  • The IP 5.184.76.71 is Polish.[3] GBFEE linked to the Polish version of Google Books, indicating that GBFEE also uses a Polish IP.[4]

Per Girth Summit's suggestion, I've taken this to ANI: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#GBFEE's_aspersion_casting_and_likely_sockpuppetryWanderingWanda🐮👑 (talk) 17:40, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I replied there.[6]. GBFEE (talk) 22:11, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm closing this without action for a couple of reasons. First of all, policy prohibits us from using the CU tool to connect an account to an IP address. Second, the IP has only made three edits, in November of last year: if there has been WP:LOUTSOCK behaviour, it is not an on-going issue. I do not mean to diminish the seriousness of the issues that the OP has reported, but SPI is not the correct venue for them to be addressed - I'd suggest that ANI is probably the right venue.
