Elder High School: Need to reverse what you deleted...

Prior to your response, I already corrected the incorrect redirect for Tennis Coach Eric Toth. It was redirecting to the wrong person when selecting his name. You deleted Eric Toth the Tennis Coach from the page but need to reverse this as he is Notable. Bmack180 (talk) 23:43, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please provide proof of notability with reliable sources? Jalen Folf (talk) 23:45, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the super quick revert. Hate when people see Wikipedia as just another personal website to enhance their CV . HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:51, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Varien

Hi,

I noticed you reverted my changes to Varien's wiki page. I noticed the first time you asked for a source for unreleased material, and I added one (the source was from the artist directly). As an independent artist, the various announcements on their social media pages are currently the best source.

I also updated the page with about a years-worth of already released material (singles). When you reverted the page, you also undid all of the material which had already been released in 2019, not just the album. If for some reason the source for the unreleased album was not appropriate, I would still defend the other changes as they have already been released, and were added with formatting consistent with the existing information on the page. If absolutely necessary, I can provide an iTunes link to each of the new singles but seeing as how none of the others have them, it seems a bit odd.

Thank you for your patience. I hope I didn't come across as rude. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.38.153.3 (talk) 05:25, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please see both WP:SOCIALMEDIA and WP:SPS. For all unreleased material, part of the same requirements as WP:GNG apply: particularly reliable sources that are independent of the subject. In other words, another third-party source has to have written an article pertaining to the announced material first. Since none have covered it, the album cannot be added to his discography until release when, by then, reviews will have already come out or a valid marketplace source per WP:AFFILIATE can be used. I will look into the other releases and add each accordingly. Jalen Folf (talk) 05:30, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the notification you've provided about Gamer Gate and the Gender disputes. It was helpful to see the view of Wikipedia on this topic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8F8:1621:FF9C:2153:C5DE:D0AD:66A7 (talk) 21:43, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Featured article nomination for "Saving Light"

Howdy, I'm messaging you to see if you would be able to review Saving Light in it's featured article nomination. The nomination only has one review, and that was pretty helpful, though I need more people to vote on it so it has a consensus so it can pass/fail. If you are able to/have the time to, I'd like you to review the article and give feedback/criticism of the article on it's FAN page. If you do not have the time, or simply don't want to review the article, that's fine. If you do though, please remain unbiased. Many Thanks. Micro (Talk) 11:24, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Micro! Unfortunately, I do not have any input for you at this time. Good luck with the review! Jalen Folf (talk) 21:50, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hannes Fischer

Why would you revert my corrected edit back to a false eidt? Please clarify. Myotis (talk) 09:16, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Myotis: I can understand your case, but Wikipedia relies on reliable sources independent of the subject for notability of a subject. See WP:GNG and WP:NPROF. Jalen Folf (talk) 12:26, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Qing Tian redirect page

hi JalenFolf, i see that you removed the csd tag that i put on Qing Tian redirect page. The problem about that redirect page is not about the order of Chinese names, but there is no articles in wikipedia that linked to Qing Tian (see: Pages that link to "Qing Tian" . so, i think the redirect page is redundant, and should be delete. thank you. --Stvbastian (talk) 12:52, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Article Atimaharathi

Respected sir, please understand point that Atimaharathi & Maharathi are different just like water & sand. You are claiming that we aren't providing sources. So let article get deleted. I think there's no problem even if wikipedia doesn't have any article. Sir, if you redirect it, readers get different meaning. I hope you got my point Karna DV (talk) 14:26, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tor Carding Forum

Hello, someone is changing the URL in Tor Carding Forum page, I always revert the changes but someone don't stop. What I can do? It's possible to lock edit changes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thisisendz (talkcontribs) 16:41, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Thisisendz: I have sent the page to WP:RPP, but it looks like you also violated WP:3RR. Please consider discussion with the users involved. Jalen Folf (talk) 17:47, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, I also violated that rule, I'm sorry about that!

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to [email protected], so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at [email protected].

Thank you!

NPP

Hi there. Have you ever thought about asking for the New Page Reviewers right? You seem to know your way away notability, and I haven't come across any of your edits regarding new articles which I have an issue with. NPP can always use folks who know what they're doing. I know it's a thankless task, but I see you often enough on my NPP patrols to know that having you review the articles would be a help.Onel5969 TT me 23:51, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Onel, and thank you for the kind words. It's something I've actually been considering for a while, and if I stick around on Wiki by 2020 (at least so I can go as long as I can avoiding hastily tagging or reverting to redirect), I will definitely look into applying. Jalen Folf (talk) 23:56, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, keep up the good work. I think you'd be a definite asset for NPP.Onel5969 TT me 15:18, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, for creating Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Laxmanwathore. I also did it from twinkle, but it told me SPI was already open. Apparently they had the accounts since a very long time. Not too active or subtle though. See you around :)

A cup of coffee for you!

Thank you for your edits at Mizzle and Mizzles. I had originally used the "Wiktionary redirect" template, but then noticed XfD closer ComplexRational used the more concise "Soft redirect". In this case, I tend to favour the original template I used, which you restored for the added rationale you provided. Doug Mehus T·C 20:19, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Dmehus: The closure defaulted to using {{Soft redirect}} when I used the 'Soft redirect' option in XFDcloser (I thought this would be the easiest way to close, and I don't know of a built-in functionality specifically for Wiktionary redirects). FWIW, I'm completely fine using {{Wiktionary redirect}}. ComplexRational (talk) 20:57, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
ComplexRational, Oh, I didn't know if XFDCloser had a "soft redirect" closure option. I assumed whoever closed it would have to use the "custom" option and manually type '''soft redirect'''. That's cool that it did for you. For the record, I was fine with either option, but slightly prefer JalenFolf's correction. I do, however, like how you made Mizzles a redirect with the Rcat plural form to Mizzle instead of having separate redirects. --Doug Mehus T·C 21:33, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dmehus, interestingly enough, I only found that out when closing this discussion (though in all fairness, I never did another 'soft redirect' closure anywhere else). Also, it was actually Thryduulf who (in the RfD) suggested redirecting the plural form to the soft redirect. Glad to help out in any case. Cheers, ComplexRational (talk) 21:45, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW I suggested redirecting the plural to the singular because that will most likely be the more useful destination if there is ever an article at Mizzle. I don't think it likely there will be, but maybe one day it will be the name of a notable product or something. Thryduulf (talk) 23:33, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewing

Hello, JalenFolf.

I've seen you editing recently and you seem like an experienced Wikipedia editor.
Would you please consider applying to become a New Page Reviewer? Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; currently Wikipedia needs experienced users at this task. But kindly read the tutorial before making your decision. Thanks. Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 18:06, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just saw the message a few above. Have a good day, Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 18:08, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, Willbb234 (obviously), they would make a nice addition to NPP. Onel5969 TT me 18:24, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You should think a bit more before tagging pages for speedy deletion. And the article has an "in creation" tag, it's impolite to touch it. --Moscow Connection (talk) 20:25, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
